Question: Consider material aluminum and area of beam is 1in × 1in. To determine deflection of beam with FA  = 87.5lbf and FB = 47lbf. The length of beam is 60 inches. FA  is applied at 15 inches from one support and FB is applied at 45 inches from this same support. Determine deflection of beam.

Let's look in to the formula of torque. Torque= Force × Distance  Now if you have two forces with different magnitudes, you can create same torque by changing distance accordingly.
